Frequently Asked Questions

Sprinkler MCFP Frequently Asked Questions

How do I have ORR bid my sprinkler project?
  • Contact our sprinkler business development managers or any of our account managers and they can put a quote together for your work.
Does ORR do sprinkler work nationwide?
  • We partner with quality sprinkler contractors nationwide, and in a few markets we self perform sprinkler work. Contact us to find out more.
What services does ORR provide?
  • ORR installs and maintains fire alarm, fire suppression, fire sprinkler, explosion prevention, specialty detection, and gas detection systems.
Does ORR issue educational certificates for the conference?
  • We do. Conference attendees will receive PDH certificates in their email following the conference.
What is the MCFP conference series?
  • It is a series of meetings and online educational events which focus on the specific discipline of mission critical fire protection. Individuals, companies, contractors, engineers, and manufacturers who are involved in the protection of critical infrastructure are invited to attend and participate in MCFP events. The MCFP series is hosted by ORR Protection.
Does ORR still do the Morning with the Experts seminar series?
  • After 15 years 2018 was the last year for that series. ORR now sponsors the MCFP series in its place.
How can we confirm that a Nitrogen Generator / Corrosion Protection System is properly sized for our application?
  • Manufacturers of nitrogen generators have sizing guides which help select generators for the location based on the number of dry systems and the system holding capacity in gallons of water. System compressors still need to be sized to fill the largest dry or preaction system within 30 minutes to meet NFPA 13 requirements.
What are the most effective ways to test for sprinkler obstructions in an operational data center?
  • This can be debated. At minimum NFPA 25 requires disassembly and inspection at the flushing connection, at the end of one cross main, and a single sprinkler at the end of one branch line. The piping gets inspected for the presence of organic and inorganic material. More thoroughly, borescopes or ultrasonic pipe measurement should be used to get a more complete picture of the piping condition.
